The CW began on September 19 and 20 with a "soft launch", airing the previous season's finales of 7th Heaven and Gilmore Girls from the WB, along with two specials produced in association with Entertainment Tonight. The "official launch" occurred on September 21 with the two-hour season premiere of America's Next Top Model.
The network's first programming shift occurred on October 5, when the CW announced that their Monday and Sunday schedules would be swapped, effective October 9 and 15, respectively. This moved the four Sunday comedies to Monday nights, and Seventh Heaven and Runaway to Sunday nights. Also involved in the shuffle were repeats of America's Next Top Model, which moved from 9pm to 7pm ET/PT.
October 18 saw the second change, as The CW cancelled Runaway, leaving three of the six filmed episodes ("Homecoming", "Father Figure", and "Liar, Liar") unaired. The cancellation moved encores of America's Next Top Model back to their original 9pm ET/PT timeslot, while repeats of other CW programs, such as Smallville and Supernatural, move to the 7pm ET/PT timeslot.
Notes: All Everybody Hates Chris episode titles actually start with "Everybody Hates", and all America's Next Top Model episode titles actually start with "The Girl Who". For example, the EHC episode listed as "Sausage" is actually entitled "Everybody Hates Sausage", and the ANTM episode listed as "Marks Her Territory" is actually entitled "The Girl Who Marks Her Territory".
